A cable figure is not a rating for the complete installation
A breaking-load figure describes a component and the conditions under which it was tested. It is not automatically a permitted load or a statement about an assembled balcony grill. There is no single person-load figure that can be established from a cable diameter alone.
Ask which cable construction and actual supplied product a reported value describes. Check whether the document is a manufacturer specification, a test report or a marketing statement. Avoid comparing figures without understanding what was tested and what the figure is intended to represent.
Ask about the assembled system
A proposal also needs to address tracks, end components, connections, anchors and the supporting building material. The opening geometry, layout and installation condition matter alongside the cable. A document for one loose cable cannot settle those other questions.
Ask the project team what evidence applies to the complete proposed arrangement and who has assessed its suitability for the intended use. Keep any limitations with the document, including the exact product and configuration to which it applies.
Useful checks before and after installation
Before ordering, confirm the declared cable specification, proposed mounting surfaces and the work included in the site assessment. Ask how the installer will document the supplied components and the agreed installation checks.
At handover, ask for care instructions and an inspection route for loose, damaged or displaced components. Do not improvise a household load test or treat a published cable figure as permission to load the installation. Questions about system performance should be answered for the actual configuration by the appropriate project professional.
Top Grills declares SS 316 stainless steel cable with a 2.5 mm cable core for its offered system. Confirm the actual components, mounting detail and limitations in the written project proposal. A product description is not a test report for your building.
Review the system information or contact the team with photographs, opening measurements and your questions.
